Africa Great Apes Safari Itinerary:
Day 01: Entebbe
You will be met at the Entebbe International airport by our driver guide and transferred to your hotel in Entebbe, overnight Karibu Entebbe or the Boma Entebbe.
Day 02: Ngamba Island
After breakfast transfer to the jetty for a motorised boat trip to Ngamba Island for a close encounter with chimpanzees. On arrival at the Island you will be directed to the visitors centre to learn more about the chimps and their lifestyle. You will be able to view and photograph thse fascinating apes in their natural environment from only a few metres away. In the afternoon you will take a boat ride back to Entebbe.

Day 03: Kibale Forest
On day 3 of Africa Great Apes Safari you will depart by road to Kibale Forest. Your drive takes you through the beautiful countryside passing traditional homesteads and tea farms. Fortportal rests in the shadows of the fabled Mountains of the Moon. Overnight Primate Lodge

Day 04: Chimpanzee tracking
Early in the morning have a visit to Kibale Forest National Park, popularly known for ti’s greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in East Africa. Enjoy a guided nature walk in the tropical rainforest in search of the wild chimpanzees, and other primates like monkeys, and many others. After lunch you will participate in the Bigodi Swamp walk, and initiative of the local community. The swamp is known for it’s reach diversity of birds and primates.

Day 05: Queen Elizabeth National Park
This morning on the Africa Great Apes Safari you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park driving passed the towering Rwenzori mountains with a short game drive on your way to your lodge.

Day 06: Wildlife Safari and a launch trip on the Kazinga Channel
The day begins early as you take on a morning wildlife safari and head for the mating grounds of the Uganda kobs in Kasenyi. You will search for the elusive lions, elephants, buffaloes and other wild animals in their natural habitat before returning for lunch.
In the afternoon take on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel between Lake Edward and Lake George. Thanks to the abundant birdlife that is sighted, and elephants, buffaloes and hundreds of hippos that are cooling off at the shores, this cruise will definitely be one of the highlights of your safari.

Day 07: Kyambura chimp trek, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
After breakfast you will drive to Kyambura gorge driving through a grassland area, all of a sudden you will come across an amazing gorge of one hundred metres deep, covered with tropical rainforest. You will hike into the gorge of Kyambura River in search of the wild chimpanzees. It is a beautiful walk through the river valley, home to many birds and butterfly species as well.
After this activity you will then drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest passing through the Ishasha sector of the park that is if road conditions allow in search of the tree climbing lions, arriving in Bwindi in the evening. Overnight Engagi Lodge

Day 08: Gorilla tracking day
This morning after breakfast you will drive a short distance to the park headquarters for your gorilla tracking to see gorillas in the wild. There will be a briefing from the guides on your trek. You are advised to take a picnic lunch with you and at least some two litres of water. After the trek return to the lodge for dinner.

Day 09: Lake Mburo Park
After breakfast you will drive to Lake Mburo half way between Bwindi and Entebbe passing through the Ankole hills. Game drive on your way to the lodge, after lunch there will be a boat ride on the lake.

Day 10: Departure
Early morning cup of coffee then off for a nature walk guided by a ranger, return to the lodge for breakfast then transfer to Entebbe to connect with your international flight out. En-route there will be a sto at the equator for photos and shopping.
