Day 1: Pickup and Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park / evening boat ride
On Day 1 of your Family-Kid Friendly wildlife safari Uganda in Lake Mburo national park, your guide will pick you up from any place of your choice. You can choose to have your pickup station at Entebbe International Airport or from your hotel in Kampala. You will then drive to Lake Mburo national park which is located in the western park of Uganda take a game drive as you drive to Mihingo Lodge.
Mihingo is a luxurious, family owned lodge in a magical setting adjacent to Lake Mburo National Park.
Perched high on a rocky kopje, whose pre-Cambrian granite boulders were formed over 500 million years ago, it has spectacular views over a vast savannah landscape. Designed to blend in with its fragile surroundings, this environmentally friendly lodge offers comfort, relaxation and the experience of being at one with nature.
An infinity pool overlooks the valley below where buffalo, eland, impala, warthogs, bush buck and zebra can be seen at the waterhole. On the rocks you may have the rare chance of seeing the resident family of Klipspringers.
Later after you have had lunch and a short rest your family will head out to Rwonyo for an evening boat cruise on the lake. The boat ride takes about 1- 2 hours and offers you great sights such as; crocodiles, hippos, buffaloes and some bird species such as; the white egret, fish eagles, kingfishers.

Day 2: Morning safari walk and Night Game Drive
This morning you will wake up early for your nature walk- a magical way to experience the bush. The nature walks allow you to notice smaller details often overlooked when in a car or riding a horse. All walks in the park must go with an armed UWA guide. You can technically walk anywhere in the park once a guide is in attendance but the most popular walks go from the lodge itself or along the swamps bordering Lake Mburo.
From the lodge a two hour loop will take you around the valleys and ridges you see from the dining room and deliver you back to the lodge. The swamp walk has a couple of raised platforms from where you can look over the swamps; if you are very lucky you may even see a Sitatunga or Uganda’s famous Shoebill stork.
After having your dinner, you will embark on a guided night game drive in the park. Night game drives in Lake Mburo national park offer visitors like you and your family the best opportunity to sight wildlife in the park that is rarely seen during the day. If you are lucky, you will spot a leopard, or lion. Guided night game drives in Lake Mburo start between 6:30 and 7pm and usually last two to three hours. Driver back to your lodge for an overnight stay

Day 3: Horseback Riding and Departure.
Wake up in the morning and have breakfast from your lodge. Head out for a morning horseback riding safari in the park. There is nothing as thrilling and adventurous as exploring Lake Mburo national park on horseback. Get to see lots of wildlife animals up close like antelopes, impala, Sitatunga, giraffes, zebras and so many more. Horseback riding activities take between 1½ to 5 hours depending on your riding experience. Have lunch at your lodge and drive back to Kampala.
After you will drive back to Kampala with a stopover at the equator monuments in Kayabwe where you can take some pictures. Upon your arrival in Kampala, your guide will drop you off at any preferred hotel of your choice. Alternatively, you can have your guide/drive drop you off directly at Entebbe International Airport in time for check- in and board your flight back home.
