Family Fun Safari Uganda itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive Entebbe for your Family Fun Safari Uganda
On your arrival at Entebbe International Airport for your Family Fun Safari Uganda, you will be met by your guide/ representative who will be holding a paper with your name printed on it and transferred to your accommodation.
Day 2: Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Murchison Falls
After breakfast you will be met by your driver/guide, be ready to depart for Family Fun Safari Uganda by vehicle to the north of the country to Murchison Falls National Park. You should be ready to leave by 8:00 am. Murchison Falls National Park has the most spectacular falls, the 40 metre wide River Nile, on its journey from its source at Lake Victoria to join Lake Albert, is suddenly compressed into a gorge only six meters wide, and cascades into a boiling pot 43 metres below. The earth literally trembles at Murchison Falls, one of the world’s most powerful flows of natural water.
En route you will stop at the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for a morning Rhino trek. A trained ranger will meet you and give you an introduction to the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary. Depending on the location of the Rhinos, you will drive to the starting point and then approach the Rhinos on foot. You will then observe the Rhinos in a natural habitat at a close and safe distance. The Rhino tracking excursion takes 1 -2 hours.
You will continue to Murchison Falls National Park stopping for lunch at the Kabalega diner. After lunch, continue on your journey crossing by Ferry to Paraa Safari Lodge. You will arrive late afternoon.

Day 3: Game Drives, Launch cruise
Early morning game drive before the sun rises in the Buligi, Albert and Queen’s track, you will see plenty of game. The tracks are found on the northern banks of the River Nile. Return to the lodge.
In the afternoon you will enjoy a boat cruise to the bottom of Murchison Falls. Hippos and crocodiles are abundant and you will see elephants and buffaloes, waterbucks and birds like Herons, Cormorants, Ducks, bee eaters, fish eagles, king fishers and the rare shoebills. The boat trip to the falls and back takes 3 hours. Return to the lodge.

Day 4: Morning and afternoon game drives
You will spend the day exploring the grasslands and woodlands of Murchison Falls National Park. Full day game drive on the Northern Bank. Your game drive will take you through open grasslands and acacia woodlands. Dominating the plains’ horizon is the blue-grey western wall of the Rift Valley and shimmering waters of Lake Albert.

Day 5: Drive to Fortportal
After breakfast, you will embark on a drive to the western side of the country, to Fortportal. This is a beautiful area, which links into the QENP eco system. You will spend one night here to break the journey.
Overnight at the Kyaninga Lodge on full board basis.
Day 6: Explore the crater lake then drive to Queen Elizabeth Np
This morning on Family Fun Safari Uganda you will explore the crater lake and the surrounding area. After lunch you will continue on your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Along the way on a clear day you will have a view of the dramatic Rwenzori Mountains.
You will be spending two nights in QENP area allowing time to explore the park. Your 2 nights will be spent at Mweya Safari Lodge with all meals included.

Day 7: Game drives/ launch trip on Kazinga Channel
Wake up very early in the morning and head out for a game drive in the Kasenyi track and Queen’s mile in the park. During the game drive you may spot game like the lion, leopard, Uganda kob, elephants, cape buffalos, waterbucks and many other animals. Return to the lodge for breakfast. Later visit the Katwe salt pans.
In the afternoon there will be a launch cruise on the Kazinga channel. On this cruise you will see a high concentration of hippos and many other animals can be seen drinking at the water’s edge. If time allows, you can go for another game drive.

Day 8: Today on Family Fun Safari Uganda Drive to Lake Mburo N.P.
Leaving Queen Elizabeth behind you drive towards Lake Mburo National Park to continue with Family Fun Safari Uganda adventure. Once you enter the park you will have a game drive on your way to the Mihingo Lodge arriving in time for lunch. Lake Mburo is the only place in southern Uganda where you can see zebra, giraffe and impala and is a great place to try and see leopards. It is also home to over 300 species of birds and offers the possibility of game walks as well as game drives.

Day 9 :Game drive with optional game walk or boat safari.
Today on Family Fun Safari Uganda we go on a final game drive looking for plains wildlife. The park has a network of game tracks in the eastern part of the park passing a variety of landscapes; acacia woodland, wetlands, grassy hillsides, rock outcrops and seasonally flooded valley floors. The early morning and late afternoon are the best times to roam the park in search of wildlife.
There is also the option of tracking game on foot through the savannah and going on a boat excursion, particularly good for birdlife. You have the option of going on an early morning game walk this morning. Accompanied by a ranger guide, you will walk to a salt lick where many animals are attracted to the salty rocks. At this time of day you may encounter hyenas returning to their dens and hippos retreating to the lake.
The lake itself is rich with a diversity of animal and plant species, and these can be viewed clearly while on a boat trip. These include crocodiles, hippos and birds such as pelicans, Black crake, heron, cormorant and Fish eagle, but you may also see the rare Shoebill stork if you are lucky.

Day 10: Drive to Entebbe; visit Mabamba swamp en route to search for Shoebill storks
Today is your final day on Family Fun Safari Uganda. Make your way back to Entebbe and the shores of Lake Victoria. En route back to Entebbe you will visit the Mabamba Swamp (Mabamba Bay Wetland System), which lies about 40 km from Entebbe. This swamp is the perfect spot in Uganda for watching the globally threatened Shoebill stork and the Papyrus yellow warbler. The Mabamba Swamp is said to support over 190,000 birds.
