Depart Kampala at 7 am to start your tour. Driving through Kampala, you proceed to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Here you shall have a walking Safari to the Southern White Rhinos that have been re-introduced in Uganda. Stop for lunch at the Kabalega diner then proceed to the Budongo Eco Lodge where you check in at either in the dormitory or self contained room for the day. This is a most delightful area of Murchison Falls National Park.

Budongo Forest is an oasis of tranquility where one can truly feel at one with nature. This is the oldest Mahogany Tree Forest in East Africa – and steps have been taken to preserve this most wonderful forest with its tall and majestic trees.
Get settled into your accommodatio at the Budongo Eco Lodge. Later take a guided forest walk and discover the beauty of the forest yourself.
Dinner at Budongo Eco Lodge

You will have your breakfast before driving to Kaniyo Pabidi in Budongo Forest for Chimpanzee Tracking – a three to four hour small group experience visiting some of the habituated Chimpanzees of Budongo Forest- spending an hour with them and observing them. Each day, chimpanzees like gorillas move to another location for the night building new nests for that day. Budongo Forest / Kaniyo Pabidi is a project of both the Jane Goodall Institute and Uganda Wildlife Authority. Enjoy your time with the chimpanzees.

After the chimpanzee trek depart for Murchison Falls National park visiting the top of the falls en-route to your accommodation.

After an early breakfast your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to go for a morning game drive where you will be able to view the early risers. During the game drive you will be able to spot large herds of elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, warthogs, giraffes, lions, leopards, view several bird species among others. After the game drive you will return to the lodge for lunch.

Afternoon boat cruise,
After lunch you will go for an exciting boat cruise to the bottom of the falls where you will get a chance to view large herds of hippos and crocodiles in water, buffaloes, elephants, antelopes along the shores, view aquatic birds like kingfishers, cormorants, bee-eaters, hornbills among others. After the boat ride you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

After an early breakfast you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kibale national park. It’s a whole day journey and on the way you will have en-route lunch and enjoy spectacular views of the local people, farmlands, traditional homesteads, Rwenzori Mountains, tea plantations with stopovers to take photos and stretch your legs. Upon arrival in Kibale national park you will continue to the lodge, check in for dinner and overnight.

After an early breakfast, you will meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kanyachu Visitors Centre for a briefing about the rules, regulations and expectations of chimpanzee trekking. After the briefing you will be allocated a chimpanzee family to trek and a park guide who is well conversant with trails in the forest.Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale forest national park takes about 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on their location because they like to move from one place to another in search of food and once the chimpanzees have been located, you will spend one hour with them in their natural habitat which gives you an opportunity to learn more about their life style, behaviors, watch them feed, enjoy the juveniles playing up in the trees, take photos and record videos with a flash less camera. After the one hour with the chimpanzees, you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will meet up with your driver guide and transfer back to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch you will go for an interesting swamp walk in Bigodi sanctuary where you will be able to view variety of bird species like the great blue turaco, black crowned waxbill, black bishop, grey winged robin-chat, yellow billed barbet, view mammals like otters, bush pigs, sitatungas, bushbucks, several primates like blue monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, grey cheeked mangabey, vervet monkeys, l’ hoest monkeys among others. After the nature walk you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

After a relaxed breakfast you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park which is the second largest national park in Uganda. On the way you will enjoy spectacular views of the Rwenzori Mountains, Lake George, tea plantations among others. Upon arrival in the park you will continue to check into the lodge.

Afternoon boat cruise, after lunch you will drive to the landing site near Mweya safari lodge for an incredible boat cruise along Kazinga channel which is a 40km long channel that connects Lake George and Lake Edward. During the boat trip which lasts for about 2 hours you, will be able to view large concentrations of hippos and Nile crocodiles in water, view buffaloes, elephants, warthogs drinking water along the banks, view water birds like yellow billed stork, cormorants, hornbills,African skimmer, kingfishers, fish eagles among others. You will also be able to see the fishermen along the shores preparing their fishing gears for night fishing, take beautiful pictures among others.

After the boat cruise you will go for an evening game drive where you will be able to view some of the animals that you missed in the morning and later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Breakfast at the lodge, head out to Kalinzu Forest Reserve for chimpanzee trekking with a tracker and guide. The Forest Reserve is home to 6 groups of chimps, comprising over 300 individuals and tracking currently enjoys more than 80% success rate. Please bring suitable closed walking boots and long trousers!

After lunch you will visit the maramagambo forest. Return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight

Kyambura Gorge is an exceptional natural setting that is severely different from that the neighboring grasslands. In this gorge you will get the opportunity to track chimpanzees which are the closest relatives to humans. The chimp families are very mobile so at times finding them may involve trekking for long hours.

After the chimp trek you will drive to Ishasha. Ishasha sector is famously known for the tree climbing lions which will be viewed lying up in acacia/fig tree branches during the game drive. Ishasha sector also harbors other animals like elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, Uganda kobs among others.

After the game drive you will you will proceed on your journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park, upon arrival you will check into the lodge.

Early morning breakfast then transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing on your gorilla tracking from the park guides. We will then embark on your gorilla trek with the expert leadership of the park guides who will point out signs of previous gorilla activity, including dung, nests and chewed bamboo shoots.

Your gorilla tracking will be an exciting journey along forested slopes, entwined vines, bushes and bamboo before you eventually reach the gorilla family.
The time taken to track the gorillas can be as few as 2 hours to as many as 7 hours. Once the gorillas have been located, your group will be allowed a maximum of one hour with them. After the gorilla trek, drive to Kisoro.

Today you will go for golden monkey tracking. These beautiful creatures are endangered too and tracking them and learning all about the golden monkey business is a great activity. Like gorilla tracking, a traveller needs to be fit too.

Optional Activities
Hike a Volcano Mountain

You will enjoy a relaxed breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your guide to transfer to Lake Mburo national park passing via Kabale town, Ntungamo town. On the way you will enjoy spectacular views of the beautiful scenery, Kigezi hills, roadside markets among others and upon arrival you will check into the lodge and have lunch where after you will go for an afternoon game drive. During the game drive you will be able to view animals like buffaloes, waterbucks, elands, impalas, giraffes, zebras, topi among others. After the game drive you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Optional activity: A night game drive.

You will get up early morning for a guided nature walk and game drive return to the hotel for a hearty breakfast. In the afternoon you will proceed to Kampala crossing the equator and later drive to Entebbe International Airport connect with your onward flight back home
