On this Chimpanzees wildlife and Gorillas safari, delve deep into Uganda’s rainforest Bwindi Impenetrable Forest home to roughly 340 mountain gorillas for an enthralling encounter with the endangered mountain gorillas. The park is one of the two remaining protected sites where this subspecies of great ape exist in the wild. Some of the family groups are habituated to human presence and will allow trekkers to track and observe them from a respectful and mandated distance of approximately as they go about their daily lives. On this trip you will also visit the Kibale Forest for chimpanzee tracking, game viewing in Queen Elizabeth National park and Lake Mburo National park with a boat cruise on Kazinga Channel and guided safari walk in Lake Mburo

Travel Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival in Entebbe

Upon your arrival at Entebbe International airport, you will be met by our representative who will then transfer you to your accommodation in Entebbe. Day 2 - Drive to Kibale Forest National Park

After an early morning breakfast, we shall set off for our journey to Kibale Forest National Park having lunch en route in Fort Portal town before we make our final way into the national park. We should arrive by afternoon where you shall engage in a guided nature walk in Bigodi swamp, an activity that should give you the best sights of various bird species and primates before we retire for dinner and an overnight. Day 3 - Chimpanzee trekking and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After enjoying your breakfast meal, you shall head for a morning chimpanzee tracking experience that should also reward you sights of other primates like the colobus monkeys, Red-tailed monkeys along with various bird species. In the afternoon we shall transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park immediately after having your lunch reaching late in the evening and proceed for an evening game drive straight away around the park to chance some of the wildlife species at the park. Day 4 - Nature walk and Launch cruise

Have breakfast in the morning and trek the thick Maramagambo forest in quest for sights of various bird species, chimpanzees, various primates plus the mysterious python caves. After having lunch, we shall head for a boat ride along the Kazinga channel where we should see crocodiles, hippopotamuses, cape buffaloes along with various bird species before we retire for dinner and an overnight. Day 5 - Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After having your breakfast meal, you will be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park; driving through the Ishasha plains to view tree-climbing Lions. We should have our lunch meal at Ishasha wilderness Camp; pay a brief visit to the Ishasha River to sight hippopotamuses, crocodiles along with other aquatic animals. We shall then proceed straight to Bwindi for dinner and an overnight. Overnight at either Engagi Lodge or Lake Mulehe Gorilla Lodge Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 6 - Gorilla tracking and Batwa Trail

This day demands an early rise and breakfast because we need to be at the park headquarters before 7:30 for short briefing meeting about Mountain Gorilla tracking that should guide us on the dos and donts of gorilla tracking. From this same meeting, we shall be allocated into groups accompanied with game rangers before we proceed to Bwindi forest for a gorilla trekking experience – an experience that should take us 2 – 8 hours depending on how long we take to locate the gorillas. We shall have an hour of a full encounter with these primates upon locating them then head back to the lodge for lunch and a brief relaxation session. After lunch, we shall pay a visit to the Buhoma community where we shall find the Batwa pygmies and be part of their cultural performances, bond with their traditional healers as well as brewers. Day 7 - Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

Rise to an early morning breakfast and transfer to Uganda’s second smallest national park – Lake Mburo National Park, driving through the magnificent scenery of Kabale. We shall immediately go for a boat cruise on Lake Mburo after having our lunch where we should sight the Impalas, crocodiles, plus several other species of wildlife before returning to our lodge for dinner and an overnight. Day 8 - Morning Guided safari walk/Departure
